Bored To Death Thing
Theres a contest on Facebook about who can write the worst opening paragraph to a detective story. Here’s my entry.
I ALREADY KNEW WHO THE MURDERER WAS

Three days ago Julie Samuels was murdered. A group of local teens found the body lying on a park bench. The murderer David Samuels was still at the scene of the crime. Yeah, he did it alright. That night he was arrested, the following day he was convicted and the day after that he confessed. It seemed like an open and close case, so why did they bring me in? That’s what I intend to find out in this story but it was probably to do more paperwork.
